Bulkeley Great House represents one of the most unique properties in Barbados. Sitting in a wooded landscape across from the now-closed Bulkeley Sugar factory, it’s located adjacent to the St. George valley, the “bread-basket” of Barbados and one of the most fertile agricultural areas on the island.

The previous home of Sir William Bulkeley, a Member of Parliament in the 1600s, this property dates back to 1651 and has housed a number of prominent Barbadian families, including the Sealys and the Piles. This pool has been constructed to give the appearance of a natural pond, with gently cascading waterfalls and a “sand-finished” bottom that extends beyond the water-level to form a shore.

The surrounding landscaping and complete impact of this pool is one of the most exceptional features of any property on the island. Another notable feature is the renovated outbuildings which now provide offices of an international standard. These offices create a mews-effect next to the main plantation house.
