Melanie King is a Shareholder and a Director of Altman Real Estate. She is also a Real Estate Agent and provides an interior design service for clients in Barbados and, most recently, St. Lucia. Melanie has over thirty years of experience in the Real Estate Industry, with experience in concierge, property management, property consulting, sales and interior design. She also served as President of the Barbados Estate Agents and Valuers Association (BEAVA) for two terms.
Melanie was one of the first women in Barbados to be involved in real estate sales. During her career in the industry, she has been closely involved with developments such as the Sandy Lane Estate, the Port St. Charles Marina, Sugar Hill Resort and more recently, the Apes Hill Club and the Limegrove Lifestyle Centre.
Born in Barbados and educated in the United Kingdom. Melanie is an avid animal lover and enjoys travelling. She shares her St. James home with her husband, her two Golden Retrievers and when he takes a break from his studies in London, her son.
Michelle joined the Altman Real Estate team in 1999 as a Marketing Manager and eventually became a Real Estate Agent in 2004. She was recently promoted to the position of Manager of the Limegrove branch and continues to be an active member of the sales team.
Michelle has more than twenty years of experience in the local Real Estate industry. Her career began at Royal Westmoreland, where she worked in Sales Administration and Real Estate sales. She is also a member of the Barbados Estate Agents and Valuers Association (BEAVA).
A fitness enthusiast, Michelle enjoys staying in shape, believing that a clear mind and a healthy body are important for all aspects of life. Her other interests include photography, travelling and cooking.
Giselle has been a part of the Altman Real Estate Team since 2010, first as Sales Administrator of our South Coast office in Worthing, and is currently the Sales Department’s Database Manager, additionally assisting with Long Term Rentals.
Giselle’s philosophy on service is the importance of understanding the client and his/her lifestyle needs first. She is the initial point of contact for all sales and long term rental enquiries. She believes that crystal clarity on the client’s needs from the very first conversation is an integral part of delivering the best possible experience.
Educated in Barbados and Canada, Giselle graduated Summa Cum Laude from York University in 2007 with a BA in Spanish and International Development Studies and is also a seasoned, internationally-certified Massage Therapist with 12 years’ experience in the wellness industry.
Pooka is the President of the Barbados chapter of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), a charitable organization to which she has dedicated many years of service. Pooka also has a special love for music and dance and is equally passionate about gardening. She believes we should all leave a smaller carbon footprint on the world, but a lasting contribution to its well-being.
Apart from her role at Altman Real Estate, Jennifer is a wife and a mother of three young children. She enjoys the physical and psychological benefits of yoga and hiking.
Marvin has more than fifteen years of experience in various aspects of the construction and maintenance industries and possesses extensive knowledge of construction, building design and building maintenance. He has been involved in commercial property management since 2001, and currently oversees over 100,000 square feet of office and retail space. Prior to that, he was the Facilities Manager for a large international company where his responsibilities included supervision of building, plant and equipment safety. Marvin is also qualified as an architectural draughtsman. He has worked on major projects, such as the South Coast Sewage Project for the Barbados Water Authority and the PriceSmart buildings in Barbados and Jamaica.
Marvin holds Certificate in Property Management from the University of the West Indies, Open Campus. He is currently pursuing a BSc. in Estate Management from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom. Marvin is a member of the Barbados Rifle and Pistol Federation and is an avid fan of motorsport and football, being a former member of both the Motoring Club of Barbados and the Barbados Football Association. He spends much of his spare time in the water, boating.
